Used, but overall good condition, part of my mixed parts rebuild series, other than the replaced grip ring, tube looks really good to me, everything works as it should, a solid device overall.
So whats a 7M? Its a 7D, but without the old school bayonet mount, and now using the modern dovetail show. Theyre made from rebuilt housings with snapped off bayonet mounts that would have gone to the trash, so no history butchered here, only improvements that can be changed out in the future. Other changes include the low battery circuit, and the circuit that shuts the device down if you’ve left it on in a lit room have been removed, theyre a common point of failure, and additionally, the illuminator has been beefed up, and is much more powerful than before.
Its my best attempt to bring the PVS7 into the modern day, in a streamlined and simplified form, using parts that otherwise wouldn’t have been useful to anyone, and keeping all other components standard and easily swapped around, if needed.
